She's Crawling!

OK. So, I realize that this is not the most exciting news to everyone. However, when I think back to all of the challenges Abigail has endured over the past 11 months (can you believe she turns 11 months old on Monday?!), this is monumental!

I would talk with her doctor and her physical therapist about how she'll likely have some physical limitations. How she may not ever crawl because she won't want to use that left arm. How, we need to keep pushing her to crawl so she gets stronger and continues to regenerate those nerve endings. And now look at her! Who would know that she had any issues with her arm, neck, and clavicle?

Every day this child amazes me. I don't know if I am amazed more than any other mom, but I do feel that I am able to enjoy every single moment. Each new thing she does is a cause for celebration and utter bewilderment. Maybe its because I am older or maybe its because it took so long for this miracle of a child to come into my life, but I can't stop glowing about every step of this journey.

Speaking of steps....here is Abigail crawling around our house yesterday evening.

Notice that she also likes to do yoga poses! After I stopped filming she did her downward-dog, headstand thing about another 10 times in a row. I have no idea what that is about, but it sure is cute!

Tomorrow we go for a head measure to see how well the helmet is reshaping her skull. Fingers crossed for a good measurement! I want this helmet off of her so badly. I miss touching her hair and smelling that sweet baby head smell.

  2. Awww...yeah for Abigail! I hadn't checked in here in awhile...and even though I should be sleeping, I couldn't help myself.

I love the "downward-facing-dog" pose. Andy used to do that all of the time too. He still does it occasionally, but not much. I don't get it either...but you're right, it is so cute!

Now that she's on the move, it's going to be soooo hard to take pics! Oh, and why is the camera such a magnet for babies' hands? GEESH...if I had a dollar for every blurry pic I have of a baby hand, ;-)
