Well this is it! The big one has hit! Stephanie had an OB appointment this morning. During her visit the Dr. indicated that we should go to triage at the hospital, because Stephanie's blood pressure was high again like last week. It took awhile to check in after we arrived because it was busy when we got here. Unbenounced to us, the Dr had changed her mind after she had seen Stephanie and decided we needed to go straight to labor and delivery to be induced. So ofcourse we just got settled in to a triage room when we were told we had to relocate. After the confusion was over, they took labs and told us that the plan was to induce regardless of the outcome of the labs. In the mean time her blood pressure came back down to a safer level on its own. So Stephanie soon got an IV of saline by 1045, and another of pitocin around 1400. Stephanie decided that an epidural would be a good way to go shortly thereafter, and she was feeling good by 1500. They also installed a "balloon" in to her cervix to get the dilation going. About 1700 the decision was made to give her magnesium sulfate for her blood pressure just to be safe. Needless to say with all of this, she has wires EVERYWHERE!
So it was a busy afternoon, but has since stabilized. She is currently sleeping at the moment, which is good because we suspect the her labor will be going pretty good in the next few hours. They just broke her water an hour ago. My guess is that this will be a long night, but we'll see what mother nature has in mind. Hopefully we'll have a baby in 12 hours! My guess is the next update will be the introduction of our baby.
