This picture was from our trip to NJ a month ago. It was taken by my sister-in-law...she's a great photographer.Physical therapy has gotten underway. Ugh. Last Friday was her first official session and we maybe got in 10 minutes of real work. Abigail was miserable. She was tired and hungry and basically just mad as the dickens at the therapist. The PT, Jenn, is really sweet and she was very patient. But Abigail had no intentions of being stretched out.
The purpose of the PT is to stretch and strengthen her neck muscles so she feels more comfortable keeping her head in a neutral position. Hopefully, she will eventually turn more to her right side so that her skull can reshape itself. Jenn thinks it may take about 6 months worth of therapy, both with her and at home. We have about 8 exercises we need to do with her every day at every diaper change. She isn't all that fond of the stretches at home either, unfortunately.
For those of you interested in better understanding what Abigail has, go to the following links:

Other than the neck issues, Abigail is doing great. She LOVES to laugh and finds just about anything funny, particularly when we make funny faces and noises. She is sleeping pretty well (ok, most of the time its really great - she will normally sleep 10 hours straight without waking up) and still is a terrible napper, which doesn't surprise either of us since we aren't good nappers either! We are enjoying her so much...every day we tell ourselves how lucky we are to have such an adorable, sweet little girl. Her smiles just warm our hearts...particularly when you go in to see her in the mornings. She wriggles with excitement when we peek over the crib! And the smile on that child's face is like none other - she smiles with her whole body! Can we get any luckier?!
